Inflatable Kayaking Expeditions

On the Lower Owyhee River

  • 6 day Inflatable Kayaking Expeditions
  • For experienced kayakers or adventurous beginners
  • Spectacular Scenery
  • Solitude & Wilderness
  • Hot Springs to Soak in
  • Excellent Side Hikes

Inflatable kayaking through the Owyhee River canyon is truly a wilderness river expedition. Spectacular is an understatement of the spectacular beauty and solitude of the Owyhee River canyon. You will find exceptional whitewater inflatable kayaking, riverside hot springs, an abundance of wildlife and rarely seen birds, challenging side hikes, and towering canyon walls. This kayaking trip is remote and you'll see why it's referred to as the Loneliest River in America and one of our favorites.

Inflatable Kayaking Expeditions

Experience the Lower Owyhee River canyon like not many people do. Kayak, hike, and enjoy the numerous hot springs and scenery. This trip is truly an unforgettable experience and when it's available it's not to be missed! The Owyhee River is fed by rain and snowmelt and its season is unpredictable in a low water year. In a good snowpack year it can be run through the summer months in an inflatable kayak. The Owyhee River is located in southeastern Oregon near the Idaho border. It is in close proximity to Boise, Idaho if you will be flying in for your trip.

We run this expedition style kayak trip very lightly. All guides and participants will pack all of their own personal gear into their own kayaks and we will be packing all camp gear into small 10' rafts. We do require that you be in good physical condition to particpate in the trip. This is a wilderness kayak experience and will be a physically demanding, but rewarding river adventure.

The Lower Owyhee is the perfect run to inflatable kayak at lower water levels. The water and air temperature in June is much warmer than a spring trip. Our trip itinerary consists of paddling during the day, stopping to do side hikes, and exploring the area for petroglyphs. We will arrange our camps that we are able to camp at hot springs. It's always nice after a long day of paddling to be able to soak in your own riverside, all natural hot tub! It's Mother Nature's finest relaxation.
