A Full Day Rafting the Rogue River
When the Gold Ray Dam on the Rogue River was removed in 2011 a whole new river opened up! The Rogue now continues from Lost Creek Dam to the Pacific Ocean with not a single man made obstacle standing in the way. We are now offering a longer full day trip that includes a 2 hour scenic float at the beginning of the trip. After a stop for lunch we head downstream to conquer the rapids of Nugget and Powerhouse falls. A full day on the Rogue has been one of the most requested trips from our guests. We require that there is a minimum of 6 rafters on this trip.
Challenge the Rapids of the Rogue River
We begin our trip on mellow warm-up water, where the rapids start out small and easy. This is a great introduction to rafting. After our warm up we jump right into the excitement with class III+ Nugget Falls and the class IV Powerhouse rapid. Both beginners and experienced paddlers find the Rogue River Nugget an exciting and enjoyable ride. There is also plenty of time inbetween bigger rapids to jump in and swim in the refreshing water in the Rogue River.
Keep your eyes peeled for the abundance of birds such as osprey and blue herons who inhabit the Rogue River. You might even see salmon swimming, jumping, and struggling to make it upstream over Nugget Falls.
The "Nugget" trip on the Rogue is a great way to spend the day on the river if you don’t have a lot of time. Join us for this thrilling "taste test" that will leave you with visions of your next rafting trip swimming in your head. This trip from pick up to drop off typically takes about 4 to 4.5 hours. We will have you back in Ashland in plenty of time for an evening play at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
